Impacts of Fiscal Decentralisation on Economic Development: A Study of Sindhuli District, Nepal
Abstract
The meaning of decentralisation is the transformation of power from acentral authority to the local level to make governance and developmentsystems effective and efficient. Decentralisation has many forms, such aspolitical decentralisation, administrative decentralisation, fiscaldecentralisation and market decentralisation. Among the different typesof decentralisation, fiscal decentralisation is a core component, because ithas both economic and political effects which promote democraticinstitutions and expand the quantity and quality of a variety of public goodsand services that help to meet the needs of local populations.
