Abstract

Rapid industrialization and unplanned urbanization have led to far reachingprocesses of social change in human history. In recent decades theexploitation of the environment has increased and affected the ecologicalbalance on an alarming scale. Society desires responsible citizens who meetthe needs of the present without compromising the ability of futuregenerations to meet their own needs. Local and global initiatives have emergedto make this world a better place to live in. One of the best ways suggested byresearchers and policy makers is to develop environmental sensitivity andawareness among the student community.
